Harmanpreet Kaur-led India are favourites going into the tournament, to be held in Sri Lanka, after winning the previous edition in 2022.
India have been the most-successful team in the Asia Cup, winning the title as many as seven times.
This time around, the tournament has more significance as it is being held just before the upcoming T20 World Cup, in Bangladesh in October.
Talking about the Asia Cup, the tournament comprises eight teams who have been split into two groups. India are in Group A alongside Pakistan, Nepal and UAE whereas hosts Sri Lanka, former champions Bangladesh, Malaysia and Thailand are part of Group B.

After facing Pakistan in their opener, the Indian eves will be up against UAE and Nepal on July 21 and 23, respectively.
The heavyweight side are expected to go the distance in the eight-team tournament.
The semifinals will be held on July 26 and the final will be on July 28.
All the games will be played in Dambulla.

Harman-led India are entering this competition on the back of a successful home series versus South Africa, where they whitewashed the three ODIs, won the one-off Test and drew the three T20Is 1-1.
