Scotland national cricket team fast bowler Charlie Cassell created history by making his ODI debut. Cassell has surpassed Kagiso Rabada in terms of taking the most wickets in an ODI debut match. Cassell took 7 wickets on his ODI debut in the ICC Cricket World Cup League against Oman in Dundee on Monday, 22 July.

Charlie Cassell had a great start to his international career as he dismissed Ayan Khan and Zeeshan Maqsood off the first two balls of his first over. He then dismissed Khalid Kail off the fourth ball of the over. Then in his second over, Cassell took 5 wickets by dismissing Shoaib Khan and Mehran Khan. After this, Cassell took Pratik Athawale. With this, he became the third bowler to take six wickets on ODI debut after Rabada and West Indies' Fidel Edwards. Cassell then took the seventh wicket by dismissing Oman's Bilal Khan. This is the best performance by a bowler on ODI debut. Cassell was included in the team as a replacement player.
