The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the dates for the fifth edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL 2027). According to BCCI, the 5th season of Tata WPL will be played between 14 January to 7 February 2027. For this, the auction of players will be held in Kochi on 28th October. The last date for franchises to retain players from their existing squad has been set as September 28.

Let us tell you, BCCI said in its statement that WPL has established a milestone in the global development of women's T-20 cricket, where young Indian talents get a great platform to prove their potential along with legendary players from around the world.

However, the venues for the upcoming season have not been announced yet. It is believed that this time, apart from Mumbai, Vadodara and Bengaluru, the new international stadium being built in Ganjari, Varanasi can also be hosted.

It is noteworthy that in the four seasons of WPL played so far, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore have dominated.

Mumbai Indians won the trophy in 2023 and 2025, while RCB won the title in 2024 and 2026. In the upcoming season, all five teams of UP Warriors, Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai and Bengaluru will take the field with new coordination.
