Mumbai Indians and head coach Lisa Keightley have parted ways, the franchise confirmed on Thursday.

Keightley joined the two-time Women’s Premier League champion ahead of the 2025 season, replacing Charlotte Edwards, who left the franchise to take charge of the England women’s team.

The Australian’s departure comes after she took up a new role with Cricket Australia as its National Development Lead. The position is focused on identifying, developing and supporting the next generation of Australian women’s cricket talent. She began her new role on September 10.

Keightley has previously coached the Australian women’s national team. As a player, Keightley represented Australia between 1995 and 2005, featuring in nine Tests, 82 ODIs and one T20I. She was part of two World Cup-winning Australian teams.

Keightley’s exit means Mumbai Indians will have to appoint a new head coach ahead of the next edition of the WPL. The franchise has won two of the tournament’s three editions so far.
