Indian Hockey player Sreejesh Life journey : Indian hockey's promising goalkeeper Sreejesh PaySreejesh has decided to put a full stop to his international career after the Olympics. He will never be seen playing after the Olympics. Sreejesh started playing at a very young age. Sreejesh participated in the Indian hockey camp for the first time at the age of 18. Slowly Sreejesh became the life of the Indian hockey team. Indian hockey team captain Sreejesh has been a strong pillar of the Indian men's hockey team for the last decade. Sreejesh was born in a farmer family in Kizhakkambalam village of Ernakulam district of Kerala.
In his childhood, Sreejesh loved to play athletics. He participated in sprint, long jump and volleyball at GV Raja Sports School in Thiruvananthapuram. But eventually Sreejesh's coach convinced him to play hockey. Perhaps PR Sreejesh's coach understood that Sreejesh is a rising star in the hockey world. That is why Sreejesh's coach put all his hard work into improving him.
After making his debut in the South Asian Games in 2006, PR Sreejesh never looked back in his career. This game was played in Sri Lanka. After this, he made his debut for the senior team in 2010. After which there were many ups and downs in the team but Sreejesh's management team always trusted him.
Let us tell you that Sreejesh has played 328 matches for India. Sreejesh has also played three Olympics. Played a role in many Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and World Cup. Goalkeeper Sreejesh won India a bronze medal with his solid defense in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. India won this medal after 41 years. Sreejesh has been awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award in 2021.
After retiring, Sreejesh said that I am very proud of my career and am moving forward with hope. I will always be grateful to my family, teammates, all the coaches, fans and Hockey India for the love, respect and support they gave me.
