Delhi: Mumbai's young all-rounder Suryansh Shedge has been included in the India A team for the three-match ODI series against Australia A. He has got a place in the team in place of injured Hardik Pandya. The matches between the two teams will be played in Puducherry on 6, 9 and 11 October respectively.

Joined the team after passing the fitness test

Suryansh was recently troubled by a quadriceps injury.

For this reason he could not even play in the pre-season matches of Mumbai. He was sent to the Center of Excellence of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Bengaluru for fitness test. After getting the green signal from the medical team there, he left for Puducherry.

Hardik Pandya's injury became a problem

Hardik has been reported to have a problem in the calf of his right leg. During the fitness test on September 19, he was diagnosed with this problem. Subsequently, an MRI scan revealed mild intramedullary edema associated with tibial stress syndrome in the right leg.

Suryansh will be out of Mumbai's Ranji match

Due to selection in India A, Suryansh will no longer be available for the opening match of Mumbai's Ranji Trophy. Mumbai has to play its first match against Chandigarh at Wankhede Stadium from October 11.

Has made T20 International debut for India

23-year-old Suryansh played three T20 International matches for India during the tours of Ireland, England and Zimbabwe in June-July. He also performed brilliantly for India A in the triangular series held in Sri Lanka in June. He scored 147 runs in five matches and also bowled 23 overs.

His performance was also impressive during Mumbai's title win in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
