Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali has indirectly called Mohammad Hafeez a liar for the latter’s statement that Pakistan players were sleeping in the dressing room during the Test series against Australia last year. Hafeez was appointed as the director of the men’s team. He was also their interim coach for the Australia and New Zealand tours. However, the poor outcome forced the Pakistan Cricket Board to part ways with the veteran.

“I can’t allow players to sleep in the dressing room during the course of a Test match,” Hafeez had said during his conversation with Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist on the Club Praire Podcast.

Hasan Ali has responded to the claims.

“I don’t think anyone slept in the dressing room. I was not a part of the Playing XI in the first game, and the players who were not playing were sitting in the dugout. The management was also sitting there. The fast bowlers can take a 20-30 minute nap after being in the field for one and a half days, but only those who feel like they need it.”

Hasan Ali revealed that the management before Hafeez allowed the pacers to take a short nap for recovery.

“In the past, the managment allowed the nap if needed for recovery. The fast bowlers were given permission. Hafeez said not to it. Fair enough. If he set the rule, the players will have to follow it.”
