West Indies pulled off the second highest chase in T20I history in the match against India in Ranchi on Friday.

The record for the highest successful run chase in T20Is belongs to South Africa, which chased down 259 against West Indies in 2023 in Centurion.

Windies skipper Shai Hope’s unbeaten 102 off 45 balls and Sherfane Rutherford’s 84 (37) led the way for the highest successful run chase in a T20I played in India. The previous record belonged to England, which shot down 230 against South Africa in 2016.

Against India, the previous highest target overhaul stood at 223 runs, achieved by Australia in Guwahati in 2023.
