5 Achievement Indian Athletes Could Achieve : India will be represented in many events during the Paris Olympics 2024. Indian players will be seen showing their prowess in different competitions including hockey, badminton, table tennis, swimming, equestrian, javelin throw and boxing. This time the highest expectations are from Indian athletes, as many champion players are participating in this year's Olympic Games.
If we look at the population, India's history in the Olympics has not been that good so far. India is still far behind many countries including China, America, Britain and Russia in the Olympics. Because of this, there are many records that India has not been able to achieve yet. However, Indian athletes can achieve many achievements during the Paris Olympics. We tell you about five such achievements.
1.For the first time a female athlete can win a gold medal
No female athlete has won a gold medal in India's Olympic history so far. India has won the most gold medals in hockey. Apart from this, two individual gold medals were won by Abhinav Bindra and Neeraj Chopra but no female athlete has achieved this feat. This time this record can be broken. Players like PV Sindhu, Mirabai Chanu and Lovlina Borgohain have a good chance to break this record.
2. More than one gold medal in a single Olympics
India has not won more than one gold medal in any Olympics so far. Till 1980, India used to win gold medals in hockey continuously but had to face disappointment in other sports. After this, India won only one gold medal each in 2008 and 2020. This time this record can be broken.
3. Indian athletes would like to reach double digit medal count
India has never won 10 medals in a single edition in Olympic history. India performed its best during the Tokyo Olympics and won a total of 7 medals. This time the athletes would like to break this record by winning more than 10 medals.
4. Gold medal in badminton and boxing
India has won many medals in badminton. Indian badminton players dominate events around the world but India has never won gold in the Olympics. PV Sindhu won the silver medal in 2016. This time India has a golden opportunity to win a gold medal. In boxing too, India has not won more than a bronze medal and this time there is a chance to break this record.
5. First Olympic medal in table tennis
India has not yet won a single medal in table tennis at the Olympics. This time this record can be broken. Players like Manika Batra and Sharath Kamal can get India its first Olympic medal in table tennis.
