Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has postponed the important meeting to the Indian Premier League (IPL). This meeting was to be held in Mumbai on 15 October 2026, which was to be attended by IPL franchise owners, officials, broadcasters and representatives of the host state cricket associations. However, now no new date has been announced for this meeting.

According to the report of Cricbuzz, BCCI and IPL officials have informed all the concerned parties through email about the postponement of the meeting.

Earlier this meeting was to be held at 6 pm at Taj Santa Cruz Hotel in Mumbai.

Meeting postponed due to PM Modi's program

One of the main reasons for postponing this IPL meeting is the program organized in honor of the players who won medals in the Asian Games. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will felicitate the Indian men's and women's cricket teams and other Asian Games medal winners in New Delhi on October 15.

Players of Indian cricket teams are expected to participate in this program.

Senior BCCI officials can also be present in this function. In such a situation, the board has decided to proceed with the meeting.

However, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia also informed in his email that some stakeholders had requested to postpone the meeting. That is, apart from the Prime Minister's program, demands from other parties were also the reason for this decision.

IPL franchises and broadcasters will be involved

Apart from the owners and CEOs of IPL franchises, representatives of 13 state cricket associations hosting IPL matches were to attend this meeting.

The presence of representatives of broadcaster Jiostar was also proposed.

Various issues to IPL were expected to be discussed in the meeting. However, the detailed agenda of the meeting was not made public. Due to the large number of delegates attending, the plan was to hold the meeting at some other place instead of the BCCI headquarters.

still waiting for new date

BCCI has not yet announced the new date of the meeting. According to Cricbuzz report, the meeting has been postponed indefinitely. In such a situation, IPL franchises, broadcasters and state cricket associations will now have to wait for the next update from the board.

BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia had earlier told Cricbuzz that some venues have been shortlisted for the meeting, but the final decision had not been taken. Now after the postponement of the meeting, official information regarding its new program and location is awaited.
