Indian women's cricket team's fast bowler Renuka Thakur Singh created history with her brilliant bowling in the first semi-final match of the Women's Asia Cup T20 2024 against Bangladesh on Friday (July 26). Renuka took 3 wickets for 10 runs in her quota of four overs. For which she was adjudged the Player of the Match.

During this tour, Renuka became the third fast bowler of the Indian women's team to take 50 or more wickets in T20 Internationals. Before her, Jhulan Goswami and Pooja Vastrakar had achieved this feat. Renuka has reached this figure in 45 innings which is faster than both of them.

Apart from this, Renuka has become the third Indian to take three or more wickets in a T20 International semi-final. Before her, Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma had done so.

It is worth noting that in this match, India has entered the final by defeating Bangladesh by 10 wickets. After deciding to bat first, Bangladesh scored 80 runs after losing 8 wickets. In reply, India won the match in 11 overs without losing any wicket. Smriti Mandhana scored an unbeaten 55 runs in 39 balls and Shefali Verma scored an unbeaten 26 runs in 28 balls.
