Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali has reacted to Mohammad Hafeez's statement in which he said that some players were sleeping in the dressing room during the Australia Test series.
Every day, there is some controversy in Pakistan cricket. The reason behind this is the constant statements of cricketers and former cricketers in podcasts and interviews. This time also something similar has happened because Pakistan's fast bowler Hasan Ali has termed a statement of Mohammad Hafeez as false.
Hafeez had spoken about Pakistani players sleeping in the dressing room during the Test series against Australia last year. Hafeez was appointed the director of the men's team. He was also the interim coach of the team for the Australia and New Zealand tour. However, due to poor results, the Pakistan Cricket Board showed the way out to this experienced player. While talking to Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist on the Club Prayer podcast, Hafeez said, “I cannot allow players to sleep in the dressing room during a Test match.”
Now Hasan Ali has proved Hafeez wrong by reacting to his statement. Ali said, “I don't think anyone slept in the dressing room. I was not a part of the playing eleven in the first match and the players who were not playing were sitting in the dugout. The management was also sitting there. Fast bowlers can take a 20-30 minute nap after being on the field for a day and a half, but only those who feel they need it.”
Hasan Ali also revealed that before Hafeez, the management had allowed the fast bowlers to take a short nap for recovery.
He further said, “In the past, the management allowed naps if needed for recovery. Fast bowlers were allowed to do so. Hafeez said not to do so. This is right. If he has made a rule, then the players have to follow it.”
