Delhi: Newly appointed captain of the Indian T20 team Suryakumar Yadav is not going to make any changes in his aggressive batting style. Suryakumar, who is leading the T20 team after Rohit Sharma's retirement, said that he has learned a lot about leadership from Hitman.

Suryakumar was handed the captaincy of the Indian team ahead of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The selectors were concerned about Pandya's fitness. At the same time, the Indian captain talked about his development as a cricketer and thanked Sharma for this.

Suryakumar said in the press conference before the T20I series, “It has been almost 10 years since 2014-15. I have completely changed now. I have learned a lot about captaincy, especially from Rohit Sharma.”

Talking about his batting, the world's number two batsman said that there is not going to be any change in his cricket style, as he believes that he performs well even under pressure.

Suryakumar said, “My batting style will not change. Pressure is fun. Captaincy has given me additional responsibility, but my brand of cricket will remain the same.”

Team India is going to play a 3-match T20 series against Sri Lanka. After this, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will return to the team for the ODI series. Suryakumar Yadav will play only the T20 series, because Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar have clearly stated that this batsman is not in their plans for 50-over cricket before the Champions Trophy in 2025.

Yadav also talked about his special bond with head coach Gautam Gambhir

He said, “This relationship is very special, because when I went in 2014, I played under his leadership for KKR. It was special because from there I got the opportunity to play for the franchise and… as they say, you walk three steps, you also walk two steps, and I had such a strong relationship.”
