Rishabh Pant played a good innings in the first T20I between India and Sri Lanka. The southpaw looked in good touch and went past former India players Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni. He scored 49 runs off 33 balls, laced with six fours and one six. Pant’s runs came at a strike rate of 148.48.
Rishabh now holds the record of the highest score by an Indian wicket-keeper in Sri Lanka in the shortest format of the game.

He shared a 76-run partnership with captain Suryakumar Yadav, who accumulated 58 runs off 26 delieveries, with the help of eight fours and two sixes.
Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal (40 off 21) and Shubman Gill (34 off 16) added 74 runs for the opening wicket. The Men in Blue posted 213/7 in 20 overs.
For Sri Lanka, Matheesha Pathirana took four wickets.
