Delhi: BCCI selectors on Monday announced the India A team for the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament. Tilak Verma will captain India A in this event to be played from 19 to 29 November in Doha, the capital of Qatar, while Rajat Patidar has been given the responsibility of vice-captain.

Talented players like Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Rinku Singh and Prince Yadav have got a place in the 15-member team.

Prabhsimran Singh and Kumar Kushagra will be part of the team as wicketkeepers. Fast bowling all-rounder Harshit Rana, who is recovering from injury, has also been included in the team.

Tilak Verma got the captaincy of India A

Tilak Verma will lead India A in the Asia Cup Rising Stars. Rajat Patidar will be his deputy. Both the players have got this responsibility in place of last year's team captain Jitesh Sharma and vice-captain Naman Dhir.

Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Rinku Singh, Prince Yadav, Suryansh Shedge, Shahbaz Ahmed and Harsh Dubey have also been included in the team.

This time the selectors have made major changes from last year's team.

Harshit Rana, who is returning from injury, also gets a chance

Harshit Rana has also been given a place in the India A squad. He suffered a rectus femoris strain while bowling during a match simulation at the BCCI Center of Excellence on September 7. Earlier, he had reached the center to recover from hamstring injury.

Tanush Kotian, Vipraj Nigam and Arshad Khan have also been included in the team.

This selection means that these players will not be available for their respective state teams for a large part of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Pakistan A also included in India A group

India A has been placed in Group B of Asia Cup Rising Stars. Apart from India, there are teams from Pakistan A, Nepal and United Arab Emirates in this group.

Group A includes teams of Bangladesh A, Sri Lanka A, Afghanistan A and Hong Kong. The top two teams from both the groups will reach the semi-finals.

The semi-final matches will be played on 26 and 27 November, while the final will be held on 29 November.
