Harry Kane reveals Virat Kohli's special message
Kane admitted that receiving congratulations from Kohli was a surprising and memorable moment. Despite being one of football's biggest stars himself, he was impressed to hear from the Indian batter, whom he has admired for a long time.
Kohli is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of his generation. His popularity extends beyond cricket, with several international sporting personalities recognising his achievements and influence.
The Indian star's famous unbeaten 82 off 51 balls against Australia in the 2016 T20 World Cup remains one of the most memorable performances of his career. His ability to deliver under pressure has earned him admirers across different sports.
How did Kane and Kohli develop mutual respect?
The connection between Kane and Kohli goes back several years. The two sporting icons reportedly met in London in May 2019, helping establish a mutual admiration for each other's achievements.
Kohli's congratulatory message was therefore more than just a routine gesture for Kane. It came from someone he genuinely respects and admires.
Kohli's popularity among international sporting stars is not new. American football legend Tom Brady has also previously spoken about the Indian cricketer's appeal.
