The October 10, 2027, men’s World Cup clash between archrivals India and Pakistan in Johannesburg has drawn more than 80 lakh ticket applications, according to a statement released by the International Cricket Council.

The demand for tickets for the marquee clash has exceeded that of the November 21 final, which has around 79 lakh applications.

The rising demand comes despite massively skewed head-to-head figures between the nations when it comes to major ICC tournaments, where 19 of the 23 matches have been won by the Men in Blue.

Meanwhile, global demand for tickets continues to build, with total ticket requests surpassing the 12 crore mark as of November 1.

28 lakh fans from 193 countries have registered for the opportunity to purchase tickets for the 14th edition of ODI cricket’s showpiece event.

With the ballot closing on November 21, more than 3.2 crore match registrations have been completed.

Fans from South Africa, the UK, India, the USA and Australia lead the charge in ballot registrations.
