Lucknow Falcons sign Bhuvneshwar Kumar: Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was once considered the leading fast bowler of Team India, but he has been out of the team for a long time.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was last seen in action during IPL 2024. Meanwhile, a good news has come about Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Actually, Lucknow Falcons have signed Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of the second season of the UPT20 League. The franchise has also spent a huge amount to make the right-arm fast bowler a part of their team.

It is worth noting that Bhuvneshwar Kumar played for Noida Super Kings in the inaugural season of this league.

His performance for the team was quite good, he took 14 wickets in 9 matches. Bhuvi was at the fourth position in terms of taking the most wickets in the first season. Noida Super Kings missed out on winning the trophy after losing in the first semi-final match.

Lucknow bought Bhuvneshwar Kumar for Rs 30.25 lakh

There was a tough competition between Kanpur Superstars and Gorakhpur Lions to include this veteran right-arm bowler in their squad.

However, later the Gorakhpur franchise itself withdrew its step due to low budget. After this, Lucknow Falcons entered this race and spent a huge amount of Rs 30.25 lakh and included Bhuvneshwar Kumar in their team. Noida Super Kings had a great opportunity to retain Bhuvneshwar by using RTM, but they did not show any interest in using it for the fast bowler.

Apart from Bhuvneshwar, Lucknow has signed other players including Sameer Chaudhary, Kritagya Kumar Singh, Viprag Nigam and Aditya Kumar Singh for the second edition. The franchise has also retained Priyam Garg, who captained the Indian team in the Under-19 World Cup.

The 23-year-old player never proved his worth in the IPL. That is why Priyam was not bought by any team in the auction for IPL 2024. The young player will be eager to perform well in the upcoming edition of UPT20 to get a contract in the upcoming season of IPL.
