Shreyas Iyer: In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Shreyas Iyer won the IPL title in the 17th season of the IPL. However, before this he was dropped from Team India for not participating in Ranji cricket and the BCCI cancelled his central contract. However, recently he has returned to Team India in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Shreyas Iyer scored a stormy double century in first class cricket for India A in a practice match played against Australia in Mumbai.
In this match, Shreyas Iyer scored an unbeaten 202 runs facing 210 balls and he hit 27 fours and seven sixes during his innings. This innings was when the Australian team came on India tour in 2017, then Shreyas Iyer, playing for Team India A, tore apart the Australian bowling attack.If Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer performs brilliantly in the IPL series against Sri Lanka and Gautam Gambhir gives him a chance in the ODI series against England and Iyer takes advantage of the opportunity and performs brilliantly, then his place in the next ICC Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan is almost certain.
Another plus point with Shreyas Iyer is that he performed brilliantly in the ODI World Cup 2023.Shreyas Iyer was very troubled by his back pain before the IPL. Due to this, Iyer refused to participate in the Ranji Trophy. However, later the NCA declared him fit. After which he was asked to participate in Ranji. Despite this, he postponed it by making an excuse of his back pain. Due to which the BCCI excluded him from the central contract. However, he may return in the Test series against Bangladesh starting on September 19.
