After the T20 series, an ODI series is to be played between India and Sri Lanka and for this Sri Lanka Cricket has announced its squad. On Tuesday, July 30, the Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee announced a 16-member squad for this 3-match series, in which the biggest change has been made regarding the captaincy.

The selection committee has removed ODI captain Kusal Mendis and handed over the command to middle order batsman Charith Asalanka in his place. Asalanka was also recently given the captaincy of the T20 team but he had to face defeat in this series against India.
