Sunrisers Eastern Cape signed Zak Crawley and van der Merwe:
The third season of the SA20 League is to be played in 2025, preparations for which have begun. All the franchises are busy adding new players to their squads for the upcoming season. Defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape have signed England openers Jack Crowley, Craig Overton and Netherlands all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe for SA20 2025.

Jack Crawley will be seen playing in this tournament for the first time. He has played for Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers in BBL. He has also played for Kent in T20 Blast and London Spirit in Hundred. The surprising thing is that Crawley has not yet made his debut in T20 International. Despite this, the franchise has decided to include him in their squad.

Sunrisers have once again included Van der Merwe in their squad, who played for the same team in the first season of the league. The left-arm spin all-rounder took 20 wickets in that season, in which his economy rate was 5.62. He was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the first season. In the final match played at Wanderers, he took 4 wickets for 31 runs against Pretoria Capitals and was named Player of the Match.

Craig Overton has also become a part of this mega league for the first time. Earlier, he has played all the matches of his T20 career on England soil. The 30-year-old all-rounder has experience of 102 matches, in which he has taken 106 wickets at an average of 26.21 and an economy rate of 8.56.

On Monday, Pretoria Capitals announced former England batsman Jonathan Trott as their new head coach for the upcoming season. It is believed that the Capitals team is also going to sign England batsman Ollie Pope for the upcoming season soon.
