India vs Sri Lanka: Indian captain and star batsman Suryakumar Yadav made a unique record with victory in the third and final T20 International played against Sri Lanka on Tuesday (July 30). With the victory in the Super Over, India won the series 3-0 and Suryakumar was named Player of the Series for his brilliant performance.

In his very first series as a regular captain, Suryakumar whitewashed the opposition team in his very first series.

Suryakumar has become the second Indian captain to clean sweep the opposing team in a T20 series as well as win the Player of the Series award. Earlier, Rohit Sharma had done this feat. In the T20 series against New Zealand in 2021, the Indian team clean swept and Rohit was the Player of the Series.

Let us tell you that in this series, Suryakumar scored the most runs in batting for India. He scored 92 runs in 3 innings, which included a half-century. Apart from this, he bowled the 20th over in the last T20 and played an important role in bringing the match in India's favor by taking 2 wickets.

He is the third Indian captain to take wickets in T20 Internationals. Before him, Hardik Pandya and Jaspreet Bumrah had achieved this feat.

It is worth noting that in this match which reached the Super Over, India defeated Sri Lanka and won the series 3-0. After being invited to bat first, the Indian team scored 137 runs for the loss of 9 wickets thanks to the innings of Shubman Gill (39), Riyan Parag (26) and Washington Sundar (25).

In response, Sri Lanka had a good start and the first 3 batsmen Pathum Nissanka (26), Kusal Mendis (43) and Kusal Perera (46) played brilliant innings. But no player could reach double figures. Due to which Sri Lanka could reach only 137 runs after losing 8 wickets and the match was tied and went into the super over.
