Gautam Gambhir: Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma and legendary batsman Virat Kohli have retired from T20 cricket. Both these players will never be seen playing for Team India in this format again.
However, there are still some players who are hoping that they may get a chance in the future. The list includes the names of wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. But head coach Gautam Gambhir will hardly give them a chance. If these players do not get a chance, they will be forced to retire.

If we talk about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, then both these legends had announced their retirement from this format on the same day. Actually, after India's victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, both of them had said goodbye to this format.
Rohit-Virat will now be seen playing only in ODIs and Tests for Team India. However, Rahul and Shreyas may soon join this list as Gautam Gambhir may hardly give them a chance in the coming times.
KL Rahul was also not selected in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 team and he has been out of the T20 format for the last two years. Rahul last played in this format for Team India in the year 2022 against England.
There is a lot of talk about KL Rahul's strike rate in this format and that he does not play aggressive cricket. The right-handed batsman was dropped from the team due to his slow batting and now even Gambhir is not going to give him a chance.
Shreyas Iyer is a great batsman but his strike rate in T20 cricket is not suitable for today's modern day cricket. In such a situation, Gambhir (Gautam Gambhir) will not give him a chance in this format and he too can retire from this format.
Currently, the T20 team has big-hitting batsmen like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dubey and Hardik Pandya and in such a situation it is very difficult for Iyer to get a chance.
