Ishant Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Yash Dhull, Ayush Badoni, Anuj Rawat, Harshit Rana join Delhi Premier League

Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Yash Dhull, Ayush Badoni, Anuj Rawat and Harshit Rana were the key picks in the player draft for the inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League.

Rishabh and Ishant joined Purani Dilli 6, while the North Delhi Strikers added pacer Harshit Rana to the squad. Former U-19 captain Yash Dhull is a part of the Central Delhi Kings. Around 270 cricketers from Delhi, including India, Indian Premier League, National and U-19 stars featured in the draft system. Purani Dilli 6 have a strong team, with Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma being the two biggest names.

Lalit Yadav, who turned up for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024 and Shivam Sharma will also don the franchise’s jersey.

Purani Dilli 6 also has the services of Arpit Rana and Prince Yadav.

Hrithik Shokeen, Navdeep Saini, Dev Lakra, Deepak Punia and Shivank Vashsisth also joined the West Delhi Lions.

Harshit Rana, Suyash Sharma, Pranshu Vijayran, Vaibhav Kandpal, and Kshitiz Sharma will play for North Delhi Strikers.

Yash Dhull and Prince Choudhary, Hiten Dalal, Jonty Sidhu and Lakshay Thareja have been given a chance by Central Delhi Kings.

Rawat, Simarjeet Singh, Himmat Singh, Himanshu Chauhan and Harsh Tyagi will be playing for East Delhi Riders.

Ayush Badoni, Kuldip Yadav, Priyansh Arya and Sumit Mathur were included in the South Delhi Superstars' team.

The South Delhi Superstars’ roped in Shwetha Sehrawat in the women’s draft. Priya Punia will play for East Delhi Knight Riders. Laxmi Yadav has been given a chance by Central Delhi Queens (Central Delhi Kings), while Soni Yadav went to North Delhi Strikers.

The first season of the DPL will start from August 17 to September 8, 2024, with all games taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The inaugural edition will have 40 matches, including 33 contests in the men’s category and 7 in the women’s category.
