After IPL, a special kind of cricket tournament is going to be held in India. National broadcaster Prasar Bharati has made a deal with Big Cricket League (BCL). This is the first such league cricket in the country, under which retired international and domestic cricketers will be seen playing along with local cricketers. This league will start from 4 September 2024 and will be played in Lucknow. 6 teams (Awadh Lions, Northern Challengers, Rajasthan Kings, Mumbai Marines, Southern Spartans and Bengal Rhinos) will participate in the first season of Big Cricket League. Fans will be able to easily watch this unique league live on DD Sports, which will be broadcast in 30 countries.

These giants are part of Big Cricket League

Big cricket legends will lead BCL. Former Indian team captain Dilip Vengsarkar is its league commissioner and the entire league will be played under his supervision. Former Indian team fast bowler Rudra Pratap Singh has been made the president and West Indies great bowler Courtney Walsh has been made the vice-president. Prasar Bharati chairman Navneet Sehgal is very excited about this league and he has expressed hope that both the organizations will benefit from it.

When I used to play cricket, Prasar Bharati's Doordarshan channel was the only medium for the youth to watch cricket.
