Sri Lanka's women's team has gone on a tour of Ireland for ODI and T20 series. In women's cricket, Ireland's team is considered weaker than Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is the current Asian champion. In the first match of the 3 match ODI series, 22 year old Orla Prendergrast snatched victory from the jaws of Sri Lanka.

During this, Orla bowled 8 overs, conceded only 25 runs and took 3 wickets. When it was her turn to bat, she scored an unbeaten 122 runs in 107 balls and created history by leading the team to victory.When the Ireland team came out to chase, they lost their first wicket at 20 runs.
