Team India won the T20 World Cup 2024 in a very exciting manner. Team India defeated South Africa in the final. However, now almost 2 months after the end of this tournament, the ICC has released the rating of the pitch used in it. The ICC has released the rating of 6 pitches, out of which it has described 2 pitches as good, while it has given a very good rating to the pitch used in the final between India and South Africa. But the big news here is that the ICC has expressed displeasure over the pitch of the three matches.
The ICC has declared the pitch used in the match between South Africa and Sri Lanka on June 3 as unsatisfactory.
In this match, the Sri Lankan team was all out for just 77 runs. After this, the ICC has also declared the pitch used in the match between Ireland and India on June 5 as unsatisfactory. Here the Ireland team was all out for 97 and the big thing is that Rohit Sharma also got injured while batting. Both these matches were held in Naso County, New York. However, the ICC has declared the pitch used in the India-Pakistan match as correct. The ICC has also expressed displeasure over the pitch used in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024.
In this knockout match between Afghanistan and South Africa, the batsmen of both the teams faced a lot of problems. The Afghan team, batting first, collapsed for just 56 runs. South Africa achieved the target by losing one wicket but its batsmen also had difficulty in playing shots. This is the reason why the ICC has also termed the pitch of this match played in Trinidad-Tobago as unsatisfactory.
