Delhi: Bangladesh's veteran wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim played an important role in the first Test win against Pakistan. In the first Test played in Rawalpindi, Rahim played a brilliant innings of 191 runs, which helped Bangladesh to take the lead in the first innings. This is Bangladesh's first win in Test cricket against Pakistan. Earlier, Bangladesh had played 13 matches against Pakistan, out of which it lost 12. Rahim was selected Player of the Match for his brilliant century and he donated the prize money to the flood-affected people in Bangladesh.

Rahim said after the match, “This is one of my best innings till date, because we did not perform well abroad. All the players prepared well at home and in Pakistan. There was a gap of two and a half months before the Test series and all the players and managers were there, while other white ball players were playing in the World Cup. I am grateful to the coaching staff and management.”

He further said, “I always try to give my best and performing well for my country motivates me.

I want to donate my prize money to the flood-affected people.”

During his century innings, Rahim made many records, including the record of becoming the Bangladeshi batsman to score the most runs and centuries outside home. He also became the oldest Bangladeshi cricketer to score a Test century.
