Smriti Mandhana joins 2-time champion Adelaide Strikers for WBBL 2024

India's Smriti Mandhana will be plying her trade for the Adelaide Strikers in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024. The Strikers won the WBBL in 2022 and 2023 and are looking for their third title in a row.
Mandhana has already played in three seasons for the Hobart Hurricanes (WBBL 4), Brisbane Heat (WBBL 2), and Melbourne Renegades (WBBL 7).
After missing the previous two editions, Mandhana has returned to playing in the T20 league.
In 38 matches in the WBBL, the left-handed batter has notched 784 runs at an average of 24.50 and a strike-rate of 130.01. Her top score of back in November 2021 at the Ray Mitchell Oval in Harrup Park, Mackay.
"I always look forward to playing in Australia, and I'm excited about the opportunity to contribute to a team with a history of success like the Strikers," Mandhana said.
"I'm thrilled to continue working with Luke. Our previous experiences together have been so rewarding, and I'm looking forward to building on that."

Mandhana will also work alongside Luke Williams, who's also the coach of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Women's Premier League (WPL).
Williams and Mandhana also worked together at the Southern Brave for The Hundred Women's competition.

The players' draft for the WBBL 2024 is set to take place on Sunday, September 1.
The Strikers will lock horns with the Heat in their opening match on October 27 at the Adelaide Oval.
