Indian team announced for Women's T20 World Cup 2024, veteran player becomes captain

Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian women's cricket team for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in October. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the team in this big tournament to be held in the United States of America (UAE), while Smriti Mandhana will be the vice-captain of the team in blue jersey.

India has selected a strong team, which also includes Shreyanka Patil, but the team will have to depend on her fitness.

Apart from this, three traveling reserve and 2 non-traveling reserve players have also been selected along with the main team.

The Indian women's cricket team would like to capture the ICC T20 World Cup title.

Here is India's Women's T20 World Cup 2024 squad:

Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Smriti Mandhana (Vice Captain), Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (Wicketkeeper), Yastika Bhatia (Wicketkeeper), Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Dayalan Hemalatha, Asha Sobhana, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Sajna Sajeevan.

Traveling reserve players: Uma Chettri (wicketkeeper), Tanuja Kanwar, Saima Thacker.

Non-traveling reserve players: Raghavi Bisht, Priya Mishra.
