India or Bangladesh: Dinesh Karthik predicts the winner of two-Test series

Former India wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik is backing India to beat Bangladesh 2-0 in the upcoming Test series. He feels Bangladesh will not be able to trouble India’s National Cricket Team despite beating Pakistan in the recently concluded five-day matches.

Bangladesh have lost 11 Tests while drawing two against India. However, they troubled the rivals on their home tracks, with India managing to win by three wickets in Dhaka to avoid an upset.

Despite Bangladesh’s Test wins in New Zealand and Pakistan, beating India in India is the toughest task.

The Men in Blue are unbeaten in 17 Test series at home, with their last defeat coming against England in 2012.

“I don’t think Bangladesh can challenge India as beating India in India is a big challenge. Although Bangladesh played well in Pakistan, I don’t see them upsetting the Rohit Sharma-led team,” Karthik said on Cricbuzz.

Team India players have arrived in Chennai for the first Test, with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul landing in the city.

“India will prepare pace-oriented pitches for Bangladesh series”: Dinesh Karthik

Karthik also said that India will choose seamer-friendly wickets to prepare for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.

“India know that pace friendly wickets can help them to beat Bangladesh. Also, they will be preparing for the five-Test series in Australia. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will be the two spinners in the playing XI, with three fast bowlers making the cut,” he added.

The pitches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai are known for helping spinners, and it will be interesting to see how the batters handle the bowlers from September 19, the starting date of the opening game.
