Nitish Rana wants to continue playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League 2025. The left-hander has left the possibility of retention to the management of the franchise but hasn’t received calls from any officials of the three-time champions.

Nitish has become a key member of KKR since joining the team in 2018. He has amassed 2200 runs and played for India National Cricket Team after an impressive IPL season in 2021. He captained the side in place of injured in 2023.

“I am with KKR for the past seven years.

The retention is not in my hands and it is upto the management of the franchise. I haven’t recieved calls from the officials. I have done well for KKR and if they consider me important, they will retain me. I want to play for KKR,” he told The Times of India.

Rana was injured and played just two matches in IPL 2024. Venkatesh Iyer and youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed with the bat in his absence.

Nitish Rana will represent Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming season of the Ranji Trophy.

“I am ready to lead Uttar Pradesh if association wants.

I will try to give my best for the team.”

UP will start their Ranji Trophy campaign against Bengal at the Ekana Stadium in October 11.
