All-rounder Vijay Shankar, who is out of the Indian cricket team, has attracted the attention of the fans with his explosive batting in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. While playing for Tamil Nadu against Baroda at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, Shankar played a stormy innings of 42 runs in just 22 balls and during this he did not show any pity towards Hardik Pandya.
Shankar demonstrated his batting ability and hit three consecutive sixes in Hardik Pandya's over. It was due to Vijay Shankar's innings that Tamil Nadu made a big score in the first innings. The all-rounder scored 42 runs in 22 balls as Tamil Nadu scored 221/6 in the allotted 20 overs.
At present, the clip of Shankar hitting Pandya for three sixes in four balls has gone viral on social media. Shankar hit the first six over long-on and then hit another six over long-off. Talking about this match, Tamil Nadu performed brilliantly in the first innings and openers Baba Inderjit (25 runs in 14 balls) and Narayan Jagadeesan (57 runs in 32 balls) gave a strong start to the team. Later, Bhupathi Kumar (28 off 16 balls) and Shahrukh Khan (39 off 25 balls) kept the pace going, while Shankar's quickfire 42 ensured Tamil Nadu went above 200.
Chasing the target, Baroda won the match on the last ball due to the stormy innings of Hardik Pandya. Pandya scored 69 runs in just 30 balls with the help of seven sixes and led his team to victory with three wickets remaining.
