Glenn Maxwell recorded a hat-trick of ducks when he was dismissed without troubling the scorers against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2024.

He faced four balls before Shreyas Gopal sent him back to the dressing room. He has been the worst performer for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 17th season, but the management continues to back him.

The all-rounder has registered scores of 0.3, 28, 0, 1 and 0. Virat Kohli, who managed just three runs off nine balls, was miffed with Maxwell and gave a stern look when the Big Show headed back to the dugout.

Maxwell, who was in sensational form in international cricket, failed to bring that momentum to the cash-rich league.

He has been one of the reasons behind RCB’$ failure, with the franchise losing 4 out of 5 matches. Earlier, Hardik Pandya won the toss and invited RCB to bat first, but Jasprit Bumrah got better of Kohli.

Will Jacks, playing his first game, amassed eight runs before Akash Madhwal dismissed him.

Rajat Patidar added crucial runs with captain Faf du Plessis. The two hit the fifties and stitched a partnership of 82 runs. Patidar, out of form in the previous games, scored 50 runs off 26 balls, laced with four sixes and three fours. When the visitors were looking good, Patidar was undone by Gerald Coetzee. Maxwell followed him soon.
