The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction before the 2025 edition saw 120 players from the country get selected across 10 teams, with Rishabh Pant becoming the most expensive player in the league’s history, at the Abady Al-Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Among the Indians, only 37 were capped players, with Shreyas Iyer first breaking the record of the being the most expensive players in IPL at INR 26.75 crore, which was surpassed by Pant, minutes later.
Among uncapped players, Rasikh Dhar from Jammu and Kashmir, became the most expensive players in this auction, joining Royal Challengers Bengaluru for INR 6 crore.
Over two days, Rs. 693.15 crore was spent in Saudi Arabia as all the teams got their squads ready ahead of the 2025 edition.
