Every match in cricket is not the same. Especially not in Test cricket. In this format, circumstances change every day and every session. The Adelaide Test is the latest example of this. Team India, which registered a spectacular victory in the very first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy being played between India and Australia, came on the backfoot on the very first day of the next match. On the very first day of the day-night test match that started at Adelaide Oval, only 6 balls pushed Team India on the backfoot. Such was the plight of Team India by Australia's legendary fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who took 6 wickets.
About 12 days ago, when India and Australia were fighting in Perth, Team India's young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal impressed everyone with two things. Jaiswal had scored a brilliant century in his very first Test in Australia. Also, while showing courage, he took a jibe at an experienced and stormy fast bowler like Starc. Jaiswal then said after hitting a six on a ball from Starc that his ball was coming very slowly. Now, this was no less than a challenge for a fast bowler who bowled at a speed of 140-150 kilometers per hour and Starc equalized it in Adelaide.
This time too, Team India won the toss and decided to bat first and once again its condition was like the first innings of the Perth Test. Then on the first day, Team India was bundled out for just 150 runs. This time the Indian team could score only 180 runs and this time it was Mitchell Starc, on whom Jaiswal had taunted. Starc bowled 87 balls on the first day, in which there were 2 no balls, while 85 correct balls were bowled. With 6 of these balls, he destroyed Team India's batting. Coincidentally, it also started with the first ball of the match and Yashasvi Jaiswal became the target.
Starc got Jaiswal out LBW on the very first ball of the match. After this, a good partnership was formed between Shubman Gill and KL Rahul, which showed the way to Team India's comeback but once again Mitchell Starc wreaked havoc. Just before the end of the first session, Starc sent Rahul and Virat Kohli back to the pavilion with his bouncing balls in consecutive overs. Then in the next session, when Australia needed wickets, Starc took the wickets of Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshit Rana in a single over. Starc was the one who started and Starc was also the one who ended the Indian innings.
Nitish Kumar Reddy again saved Team India from being out at 150 with some powerful and surprising shots but in the end it was Starc who dismissed him and took his sixth wicket.Apart from all this, Scott Boland also trapped the Indian batsmen in his net. Due to the injury of Josh Hazlewood, he got a place in the team and it was already feared that he could trouble India. That's what Boland did. He bowled many no-balls but definitely took the wickets of Shubhman Gill and Rohit Sharma. Both the batsmen were returning from this test and their return was not good. Captain Rohit could score only 3 runs even after coming in the middle order.
Team India collapsed in just 44.1 overs.(The news is being updated)
