The form of top Indian batsmen like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill remains a matter of concern for Team India. Especially Virat Kohli who is continuously getting out on the same type of ball. Virat has scored only one century in five innings so far in the current Border Gavaskar Trophy. Apart from this, he has flopped in all four innings. Tampering with the off stump ball is becoming a constant cause of trouble for him. Same thing was seen in GABA test also. However, after the flop in the first innings at Gabba, Virat Kohli took a big step.

Gil-Virat 'away' from the team

During the first innings of the Gabba Test, Virat Kohli was out for just three runs.

He played only 16 balls and was dismissed cheaply after touching Josh Hazlewood's ball going outside the off stump. But after this, Virat took a big step to deal with his problem and he was seen away from the team and sweating profusely in the nets. On one side, the fourth day's play was taking place in Gabba, while on the other side, Virat was seen practicing in the nets.

Shubman Gill also practiced

Shubman Gill also practiced in the nets with Virat Kohli. Gill has also failed to make a mark with his bat so far on the current tour.

Once again his bat flopped in the Gabba Test also. After this, he was also seen practicing batting in the nets during the live match. Gill could not play the Perth Test due to injury. Whereas in Adelaide he scored 59 runs in both the innings. Whereas Gaba was out for just 1 run in the first innings of the test.

Australia scored 445 runs

Australia put about 450 runs on the board in the first innings. With the help of centuries from Steve Smith, Travis Head and half century from Alex Carey, Australia scored 445 runs in the first innings.

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 6 wickets for India. Mohammad Siraj got two wickets while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Akash Deep got one wicket each.
