Team India had won the first match of the series, while in the second match, West Indies made a strong comeback and defeated them by 9 wickets. Now a fierce fight was expected in the last match to capture the series. However, even before the match, India suffered a big setback as captain Harmanpreet Kaur was not completely fit for the match. In such a situation, vice-captain Mandhana took command in his place and herself laid the foundation of victory for the team.

During this, Richa also equaled the world record of the fastest T20 International Fifty in just 18 balls.
