After winning the T20 series against West Indies, the Indian women's team has started the ODI series in the same manner. In the first match played in the new stadium of Vadodara, captain Harmanpreet Kaur's team India defeated West Indies by 211 runs in a one-sided manner. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana's bat scored more than 50 for the fourth consecutive innings, on the basis of which Team India, batting first, scored a big score of 314 runs after losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. In response, the West Indies team could not last long and collapsed for only 103 runs.

Mandhana missed a century, still made a big score

Team India made an explosive start in the first match of the three-match ODI series on Sunday 22 December.

Young batsman Pratika Rawal (40), who was making her international debut in this match, opened with Mandhana and together they made an excellent partnership of 110 runs for the first wicket. Mandhana, who scored a brilliant century in the last ODI match on Australia tour and then scored 3 consecutive half-centuries in the T20 series against West Indies, once again crossed the 50 mark.

However, Mandhana could not complete her century and was out on the score of 91.

She was out on the 'nervous nineties' for the fourth time in her ODI career. After Smriti's dismissal, captain Harmanpreet Kaur (34), Richa Ghosh (26) and Jemimah Rodriguez (31) played short but fast innings in the middle order, whose Team India was able to reach a big score on its own. Only 20 year old spinner Zaida James bowled amazingly for West Indies and took 5 wickets for 45 runs in 8 overs.

Renuka terrorized the entire team

In response, West Indies had a very bad start and explosive opener Kianna Joseph was run out on the very first ball of the innings.

After this, the power of Renuka Singh and Titas Sadhu was visible, whose swinging balls had no answer for the West Indies batsmen. Renuka had decided the defeat of the team by giving two biggest blows to West Indies in the third and fifth overs. The Indian pacer first took the wicket of West Indies captain Hayley Mathews and then bowled the explosive batsman Deandra Dottin. Whereas Titas bowled Rashada Williams.

West Indies had lost 4 wickets for just 11 runs and this trend did not stop here either. Renuka again destroyed the Windies middle order and only 8 of its batsmen returned to the pavilion for 66 runs in 20.1 overs.

Renuka (5/29) took the 8th wicket by dismissing Simen Campbell and got her 5th wicket. With this, the young pacer created history by taking 5 wickets for the first time in his international career. In the end, Priya Mishra and Deepti Sharma gave victory to Team India by bundling out the team for 103 runs.
