In the 67th National Shooting Championship, pistol and shotgun events are being held at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi, while rifle events are being held at MP Shooting Academy, Bhopal. Like every time in the National Shooting Championship, this time also the strong performance of the shooters of Delhi continues. So far, shooters from Delhi have won a total of 19 medals including 6 gold medals in the pistol shooting competitions going on at Dr. Karni Singh Range. On the other hand, shooters from Delhi have so far won 3 medals in the ongoing rifle competitions in Bhopal.
Shooters from Delhi have won four medals in the 25 meter standard pistol men's event. In the master main individual competition of this event, journalist Farid Ali won silver with a score of 546 points, Mahavir Singh of Rajasthan (560) won the gold and Naveen P.R. of Kerala won the gold. (544) won the bronze medal. Famous shooter Samaresh Jung stood fourth in this match. In the 50 meter three position women's deaf category, Monica Verma of Delhi won the bronze medal with a score of 546 points, while Mahite Sandhu (585) of Chandigarh won gold and Natasha Uday Joshi (558) of Maharashtra won silver.
Earlier, Monica had also won silver in 50 meter prone women's deaf category.Raghav Verma of Delhi won the gold medal in the 25 meter standard pistol junior men's civilian individual event with a score of 561. In this tough competition, Karan Chauhan (560) of Uttar Pradesh won the silver medal and Arpit (558) of Haryana won the bronze medal. In the 25 meter standard pistol men's civilian event, Delhi's team of Arpit Goyal, Raghav Verma and Gajendra Kumar Kamboj won silver. Whereas in the Junior Men Civilian Team event, the team of Raghav Verma, Yash Jaggi and Gajendra Kumar Kamboj won the gold medal.
Earlier, in the 25 meter rapid fire pistol junior men civilian event, Delhi's team of Gajendra Kumar Kamboj, Dhruv Bhatia and Arjun Verma had won bronze.Delhi State Rifle Association Secretary Akshay Kumar Anand congratulated all the medal winners. He said that the shooters of Delhi are performing well, till now Delhi has registered its presence in almost all the competitions and it is expected that our shooters will win many more medals in the remaining events of rifle, pistol and shotgun.
