Raman Lamba, born on 2 January 1960 in Meerut, is the same player who died after being hit on the head by a ball during a match. When he met with an accident in February 1998, the entire cricket world was immersed in an atmosphere of sadness. Actually, Raman Lamba was seriously injured due to a sharp shot of a batsman hitting his head and then he lost the battle of life.

While Raman's debut on the cricket field was brilliant, his end was very scary.

In 1998, Lamba was fielding at forward short leg in a club cricket match in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was without a helmet, during this time the powerful shot of batsman Mehraab Hussain hit him directly on his head. After which he was admitted to Post Graduate Hospital in Dhaka. But after 3 days of treatment, he died on 23 February 1998. Before this incident, his captain Khalid Masood had also advised him to wear a helmet, but he had refused. As soon as the ball hit his head, Lamba fell on the field and his words were, I am dead, man.

On the other hand, in ODI he scored 783 runs at an average of 27.00, which included 6 half-centuries and 1 century.
