Jasprit Bumrah is carrying an injury in the fifth and final Test against Australia. He has left the ground on a couple of occasions and bowled just one over after lunch before heading back to the dressing room for some treatment. Thete is no official information available but one of the former Australian players revealed that Bumrah was not looking fine before the start of Day 2 of the Sydney Test. According to reports, he has been taken for scans by the medical team.

He has bowled a lot of overs during the course of the five-match Test series and with other bowlers struggling to take wickets, Bumrah was used more often by captain Rohit Sharma.

Rohit opted out of the game and Bumrah was given an additional responsibility of leading the team for the second time in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-24. He was the skipper in the series opener and led the team to a 295-run win. The speedster has taken 32 wickets so far and needs one more to go past Harbhajan Singh’s record for most wickets in a bilateral Test series between the two countries.

Bumrah suffered a career threatening back injury couple of years back and returned to the India National Cricket Team after a long break.

He went for the surgery and had to go through a long rehabilitation before the BCCI declared him fit.

The workload has certainly impacted him in Australia and the team needs him if the visitors want to retain the trophy.
