Delhi: Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed that it has appointed former Pakistan batsman Younis Khan as the mentor of its national team for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
ACB spokesperson Saeed Naseem Sadat told Cricbuzz, “Keeping in mind the preparations for Champions Trophy 2025, Younis Khan has been added as a mentor. He will join the team before this event to be held in Pakistan and will help the team with his experience.” It is noteworthy that this time the Champions Trophy is to be organized in Pakistan and Dubai.
At the same time, Khan has extensive experience in coaching. He became the batting coach of Pakistan in November 2020, but he resigned from this post in June 2021. Apart from this, he has also served as the head coach of Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Bangla Tigers in Abu Dhabi T10 League.
