In a high-scoring encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) outshone Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a high-scoring IPL clash, winning by 25 runs. Opting to bowl first, RCB faced a daunting SRH batting lineup. SRH set a new IPL record with a colossal total of 287/3, propelled by Travis Head’s spectacular century (102 off 41 balls) and Heinrich Klaasen’s brisk 67. Their innings featured a record 22 sixes.
In response, RCB’s top order, led by Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, fought hard but struggled to keep up with the required run rate. Despite Dinesh Karthik’s blazing 83 and du Plessis’ 62, RCB fell short, finishing on 262/7. Pat Cummins was exceptional for SRH, taking three crucial wickets. Karthik’s innings entertained the crowd but couldn’t prevent RCB’s fifth consecutive loss, keeping them at the bottom of the points table.
