Royal Challengers Bengaluru have played seven games but don’t know their best-playing XI. The team changes frequently for success, and the results have been devastating. Players haven’t been given a chance to settle down. Karn Sharma, the only experienced spinner in the side, was dropped after just one contest.

In the last match against Sunrises Hyderabad, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj were shown the door, but still, the team conceded 287 runs and lost the contest by 25 runs. Maxwell has been the biggest disappointment for the franchise, having registered three ducks in just six games. He is not ready to spend some time at the crease, and his habit of playing too many shots has led to his dismissals, impacting the unit’s chances.

However, Ambati Rayudu, who won six IPL titles, was not satisfied with the decision not to play Maxwell against SRH. He felt Bengaluru could have won the match had Maxwell been given a chance.

“Glenn Maxwell should have been there. RCB don’t trust their players. This is one area where Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders are ahead of other franchises. Maxwell deserves to play all 14 games as he is a match-winner, and you at least give him an entire season before taking a call.

“This is when a player needs backing, and if he is trusted, he can do wonders for the franchise. However, RCB have ssues, and that’s why when their players play for other franchises, they always perform,” Ambati Rayud said.
