There was no match between India and Pakistan in the first three editions of the Champions Trophy. The two took the first competition in 2004, in which Pakistan won. After receiving the first batting, the Indian team was all out for 200 runs in 49.5 overs. In which Rahul Dravid scored 67 runs and Ajit Agarkar scored 47 runs.
Shoaib Akhtar and Naved-ul-Hasan took 4-4 wickets for Pakistan.The run chase was not easy for Pakistan and the team won by losing 7 wickets while remaining 4 balls. In which Mohammad Yusuf played a winning innings of 81 runs.
India vs Pakistan (Centurion, 2009)
The second competition of India-Pakistan took place in the 2009 Champions Trophy on the Centurion ground. Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan scored 302 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in the prescribed 50 overs, with Shoaib Malik 128 runs and Mohammad Yusuf scored 87 runs.
In response, the Indian team was reduced to 248 runs in 44.5 overs. In which no player besides Rahul Dravid (76 runs) and Suresh Raina (46 runs) did not bat.

In this match, the Indian team prevented Pakistan from putting a hat -trick of victory. In the final match at The Oval in the 2017 edition, both the teams again collided, after a life from Jasprit Bumrah's no ball, Fakhar Zaman scored 114 runs, due to which Pakistan scored a huge score of 338 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. Mohammad Aamir wreaked havoc with his fast bowling on the Indian team to chase the run, Rohit Sharma (0), Shikhar Dhawan (21) and captain Virat Kohli (5) pushed India to the backfoot in the beginning. Due to which the Indian team was all out for 158 runs, in which Hardik Pandya scored 76 runs. Pakistan won the Champions Trophy for the first time, winning by a huge margin of 180 runs.
