After Sunrisers Hyderabad‘s 25-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a run-fest game on Monday, skipper Pat Cummins delivered an inspiring dressing room speech brimming with confidence. Fresh off stellar performances for Australia and in franchise cricket, Cummins was thrilled that Sunrisers’ came out firing and dominated RCB in their own backyard, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

After blasting 277 in a previous match against MI, Hyderabad went past their own record for the highest team total in IPL history by scoring a monstrous 287 for 3 against RCB. Cummins praised the SRH batters for striking fear into opposing bowlers with their thunderous batting.

“I will continue to say that you will hear from us consistently. This is how we intend to play – not every game will work out perfectly, but I can assure you that our opponents are afraid of us. We need to decisively defeat some teams before they even take the field. Overall, this was another great day and job well done.” Cummins commented.

Travis Head laid the foundation with the fourth-fastest century in IPL history. He and Abhishek Sharma set the tone by amassing 108 runs in just 8.1 overs. Heinrich Klaasen then unleashed fury of sixes and fours on the RCB bowlers, blasting 67 off 31 balls with 7 sixes at number 3. Abdul Samad managed 37 off just 10 balls in the death overs. SRH then restricted RCB to 262-7 to seal the win.

“Team, we have been encouraging everyone to play boldly, aggressively, and freely. You all have responded wonderfully with your batting. That was incredible.” continued Cummins.
