The South Africa all-rounder Corbin Bosch has been named as the replacement for the injured Lizaad Williams in Mumbai Indians squad for the IPL 2025.

Lizaad Williams had missed the SA20 in January this year with the same injury and hasn’t recovered yet fully to join the five-time champions for the 18th season of the league.

Meanwhile, The 30-year-old is yet to make his IPL debut after being part of the Rajasthan Royals as a net bowler after joining the franchise in 2022.

“South African fast bowler Lizaad Williams is ruled out of the upcoming TATA IPL 2025 due to an injury, and Mumbai Indians have signed his compatriot Corbin Bosch as his replacement,” said MI in a statement.

He went unsold during the 2025 mega auction and will be joining the Mumbai setup after representing MI Cape Town in this year’s SA20. He grabbed 11 wickets in eight games including figures of 4 for 19 against Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

Bosch made his test debut in the Boxing Day fixture of 2024 against Pakistan in Centurion, just after his 50-over bow against Men in Green in Johannesburg.

He was called up as the replacement for the injured Anrich Nortje in South Africa’ squad for the Champions Trophy.

Hardik Pandya-led team has already suffered set back after Afghanistan spinner Allah Ghazanfar was ruled out of the tournament, with Mujeeb Ur Rahman replacing him.
