Women's Premier League (WPL) season 3 is down to two matches and three teams as the WPL Playoff is all set to take place this week at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai after the league stage action ended on Tuesday (March 11).
Unlike the Indian Premier League (IPL), only the top three progress to the playoffs in the WPL as it's a five-team tournament, and the top three will play their respective fixtures based on where they finished on the WPL 2025 points table.
Two matches will be played in the playoff stages - Eliminator and then the all important final. The first placed team earned a direct entry into the final, while the second and third placed teams battle in the lone eliminator to book their spots in the summit clash.
After nearly three weeks of action, and 20 league stage matches, three teams progressed to the WPL 2025 knockout stages. Here is all you need to know about the Women's Premier League season 3 playoffs:
Which three teams have qualified for the WPL 2025 Playoffs?
Two-time runners up Delhi Capitals (10 points from 8 matches), inaugural champions Mumbai Indians (10 points from 8 matches) and Gujarat Giants (8 points from 8 matches) have qualified for the WPL Playoffs after confirming a top three finish.
Thanks to superior Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.396, DC-W edged MI-W (+0.192) to the top spot and in the process earned a direct entry into the final. This is DC's third successive top of the table finish and direct confirmation of the final.
The Delhi-based franchise will, however, look to better their previous two runners up finish this season when they face either Mumbai Indians or Gujarat Giants in the title clash during the weekend.
MI women, who failed to take their chance to finish in the top of the standings following a defeat to already knocked out defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), will now face third-paced GG-W in the Eliminator to fight for a final spot.
Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (6 points from 8 matches) and UP Warriorz (6 points from 8 matches), on the other hand, finished in the last two sports and as a result are out of the playoffs.
