In the first season of IPL i.e. 2008, an uncapped Indian player got a chance to debut for Rajasthan Royals. This young player showed in the very first match that he is a long race horse. He performed brilliantly not only in the first match but throughout the season and played an important role in Rajasthan Royals winning the title.

Swapnil Asnodkar scored 311 runs in nine matches that season at a strike rate of 133.47. Since then he started being called 'Wonder Boy'.
